So I've been unofficially boycotting Asylum since then. They had a punk band play last winter whose subwoofer could be heard three blocks away, it sounded like a great band, but if you have a baby (or need sleep) and you live nearby the new Meridian Pint...Well, I hope this venue is a little more friendly to regulars and the immediate neighborhood. No offense John! If it weren't for that I'd welcome this sign of creeping gentrification northward and eastward in Columbia Heights/Petworth, which needs more funky welcoming spaces where people can drink coffee, beer or wine. Hope the menu is a little better than typical bar food.
