		<description>Yes, it was the 20th annual GLOBAL YOUTH SERVICE DAY, and it took place here in DC and 101 countries around the world.  More than 4 million young people, ages 5-25, participated.

Youth Service America organizes the event in the U.S. and around the world.  SERVE-DC in the Mayor&#039;s office organizes local activities in Washington, DC.

Youth are not &quot;future&quot; leaders or the &quot;hope of tomorrow&quot;; they are very much the hope of today.  We cannot afford for them to grow up before they start changing the world.

		<description>Yup, I participated at Bunker Hill elem school -- also helped out at Brookland Elem School for a while before I realized I was at the wrong school.  There were a lot of high school kids from College Bound participating.  The school principal spoke about how our schools are only as strong as the communities they&#039;re in --</description>
