Looks like a recent renovation but it’s the rounded windows on the second floor that got my attention.

Whatever. It's still a dumb thing to do.
I am registered but I doubt I am going... I can't imagine much good coming out of it.
Also grotesquely abusive to citizens. Honestly - you are asking people to give up an...
Hmmm... didn't post.
City Paper has an article today in Housing Complex about DC's...
Nope, I live in Adams Morgan.
But I lived in Columbia Heights before the metro opened,...
the porch is home-made and kind of crappy.
I like the paint job and I bet it’s very spacious inside!
I walked around back, it has the coolest rear roof deck on it. That front facade paint job is pretty unique!
LOL, I am shocked and flattered to see my house up as the house of the day. I have been working on it for 8 years, with alot of help. I appreciate the nice comments, and will take the criticism of the “home made” porch in the constructively critical way, that I am sure it is meant.
I would say that the whole place probably has a bit of a “home made” feel to it, because much of the work was done by me, or my sister, or mother, or friends. The things I am most proud of are the kitchen that offers 18ft of stainless steel counter space and 10x20k btu burners, the marble bathroom and 80 gallon tub in the master bath, and the new decks on the back and roof with great views of the basilica of Catholic U, the National Cathedral, and even the washington monument.
As you probably can tell, I am pretty proud of what I have done with the place, and would be happy to share any knowledge I have gained on the way (like don’t take your walls to exposed brick with floric acid after you have laid your brand new oak hardwood floors). If you’d like to take a look stop over some time.

Todd, can you send me some pictures of the kitchen and bathroom to post? Princeofpetworth@gmail.com

what is floric acid? I have been using a sledgehammer to remove plaster from brick. Is the acide a better approach? Pls advise!
Muriatic or floric. You use them after the hammer and before the polyurathane. It takes the last layer off the brick that doesn’t want to come off. You use an acid brush, with a long poll, to apply it. Foams up like an 8th grade foaming volcano science project, then you have to rinse it with fresh water a couple of times. Saves time and looks great. Don’t forget the gloves or to finish it with poly either.

Todd, what an amazing job you did! I really enjoyed looking at those pictures. You should be proud! The house looks beautiful.
You’ve done a beautiful job, and I bet the house has become so much more of a home since you put your own labor and creativity into it. Looks great!
I can’t wait until the landscaping is completed!
It looks like people are using my advice for cleaning brick. In the words of Borat, “very nice!”
