Thanks to a reader up in North Country for sending this phenomenal church sign. Amazing.
“So what church do you attend? You know the one off Sherman Circle – The House of God Which is the Church of the Living God the Pillar and Ground of the Truth Without Controversy, Inc.”
I’m exhausted just typing it. Now that I think about it I’m pretty sure there is some controversy…

Yeah, that right there would have me walking out the door. Nothing says "You'll...
Columbia Heights and Georgia Ave opened on the same day.
I love it love it love it. I live nearby (Eckington), and bike by it almost every day....
Beautiful building, BOLD, which is a rarity in DC. Not sure how people think there is too...
Orange kitties are little psychos.
I have torties (and a tabby). Not quite as psycho.
OMG! Look what I Googled:

I live nearby this church, and despite its size and appearance, they have one fantastic, rocking gospel band. I don’t think that its every weekend that they have the music, but every once in a while when I’m out working in the yard, I get the breeze blown sound pass my way and it makes the work so much more enjoyable.
A very good friend of mine, who is a preacher, has always maintained that you can tell how many splits a church has gone through by the length of the name. See, his theory is that they just add on a few words each time.
I think he’s right.
that’s officially my new favorite website
Oh those crazy poor people- what will they think of next! ha ha ha
I always wondered if they actually have services there, and I guess they do. There is a lady who is a notary there too (I imagine she lives in the house, but I’m not sure.) A couple of bucks to have something notarized, and it’s walking distance. Nice.
The church’s name is grammatically incorrect–it should be “that” instead of which or it should include a comma… So perhaps they should consider re-naming it: “The House of God that is the Church of the Living God the Pillar and Ground of the Truth Without Controversy, Inc., which was formerly known as House of God Which is the Church of the Living God the Pillar and Ground of the Truth Without Controversy, Inc., Inc.”
Long name ad wouldja look at that, more bishops than you can shake a Bible at. Typical.
