Thanks to DC Direwolf for sending the photos.
On a related note, I was talking to a 78 year old cab driver Sat. night and somehow this topic came up. Well he told me in 1947 Shaw was filled with cows, goats, horses and of course chickens. It’s wild to imagine goats and cows in people’s back yards in Shaw. In the meantime I’ll hope to be lucky enough to run into our 11th Street celebrity chicken. So what shall we name it?

Illeagal chicken!
We should work to overturn DC’s anti-chicken laws to make this chickie a law abiding chickie.
I thought the Supreme Court recently ruled against DCs live poultry ban?
Given the bird’s stomping grounds appear to be in Wonderland’s neck of the woods, Wonder Chicken works for me. Or perhaps “Cluck me? Cluck me?, cluck YOU motherclucker, cluck YOU!”
I vote for “clucky.”
it looks like this wonder chicken likes to hang out in the middle of the sidewalk…if he is also fond of the middle of the road (and dc still has a ban on live poultry), perhaps the anc can pass a resolution to write a letter to who ever it may concern for the allowance of this fowl to continue breaking the law, disregarding the plans or rights of anyone else using the lanes?
