I notice a gag fire alarm on the living room wall, much like the red boxes lining the the halls of my fondly remembered grade schools. "What will happen if I pull that?" I ask myself. "Will snakes pop out out? Will there be a funny pre-recorded message? Will it result in an anti-climactic nothing?" So I "push in and pull down", it is anything but anti-climactic. The stentorian ringing winds me and the disbelief in my hostess' eyes assures me that yes, I have royally screwed up. Sorry folks. We told the fire department not to come, Bloom somehow survived and I learned not to pull gag fire alarms any more.
