The smaller flowers are portulaca (moss rose) – it’s a great heat and drought resistant annual.
Given that we now live in a tropical climate thanks to global warming, these are no longer an annual. Mine come back strong every year.
moss roses are not perennials per se–they are just very good at re-seeding themselves, which is why yours probably come back year after year.
Way back where I come from (Iowa) we call them Morning Glories because they only bloom in the morning and close up by the heat of midday. From what I remember they are super prolific and wind up spreading themselves everywhere, which can be nice, until they take over your yard. Ours came back every year.
