Filet Mignon isn’t inherently traif, it’s just located too close to the sciatic nerve for most kosher butchers to make an attempt at getting a kosher cut of it, so a kosher cut of filet mignon is very unusual to find (I’d have said “rare,” but that might be confusing when talking about meat).
There is a process, however, called “nikkur” where it can be done.
