Well, believe it not PoP is almost two years old. So I thought I’d start a new post highlighting some good finds from a year (or two) ago. By the by, there is going to be a huge two year PoP anniversary party Nov. 13th at Wonderland featuring the bands Milk Machine and O’Tasty (and potentially one more). So mark your calendars. T-shirts with the new logo will be unveiled.
So, one year ago today:
I discussed the merits of putting bricks under window air conditioner units.
I found a decent Pop up (warning, there is vinyl involved).
I checked out Java & Cream up in north country which I think, sadly, has closed.

Well said by someone that lives far from this type of public housing. Or as I like to...
DC emergency no parking permits are just one small part of a completely broken system....
This is actually a very interesting point. If we all have the right to something then...
It's high time that these apartments are demolished to make way for mixed use luxury...
Isn’t O’Tasty a chinese delivery place in Adams Morgan?
milkmachine can’t wait! we’ll be there with well wishes for many more years and thanks for all you’ve done for the neighborhood. long live PoP!
milkmachine – my fave local band. Yay!
It’s a true story: that’s the local origin of a perhaps less than compelling, though sarcastic and kind of funny name for a considerably compelling band that you should check out if you haven’t. Way to go to POP for booking both acts and congratulations on the anniversary!
Jeez, it doesn’t help when O’Tasty band members say the name is less than compelling.
