Signs don’t get much better than this, do they? Stan’s is located on H Street, NE.

Man, PoP, you really got around today. Gtown, H Street, downtown…?
I average around 15 miles walking over the weekend these days… But in full disclosure I drove to H Street to visit my attorney and his wife who just had a beautiful baby girl.
You should head up to Takoma Park, Ft Totten, or over to Rhode Island Ave/Brookland sometime… Not as familiar with those areas…
Good call. I’m putting them on the list. If anyone has any specific recommendations of what I should check out, in addition to my random wanderings, in those areas – shoot me an email at princeofpetworth@gmail.com
LeDroit Park, Bloomingdale (especially see if you can get some good pics of the McMillan Water Filtration stuff)
Historic Anacostia (ok, you may want to bus or metro here, then walk through the historic neighborhood, as it is a way away, and the bridges aren’t all pedestrian friendly.) Also, Anacostia Park is one of the most amazing places in the city. Perhaps DG-Rad could provide guidance.
Brookland.
if you can, take a river ride down the Anacostia. there’s a group called Earth Conservation Corps that might be able to arrange it. it’s really a cool thing to see DC from the river’s perspective (although be prepared to see lots of discarded tires and oil slicks, unfortunately…)
I drive by Stan’s a lot. i’ve never seen it open…
that’s one of my all-time favorite signs.
