Above photo of dancers and O’Tasty by Jamietre
Thanks to everyone who came out despite the less than ideal weather. Thanks to all who bought me beers. To all who bought me shots – I hate you. Thanks to Matt and Rose for offering up Wonderland as the venue. Thanks to Reya who is by far one of the coolest bartenders in town. A very special thanks to Milkmachine who set the scene with an awesome opening set. Finally, I’d like to thank O’Tasty who made this party what it was. For those who have never heard O’Tasty they are the best local band in town. If you like the Pogues and Dropkick Murphys – you’d love O’Tasty so make sure you catch them the next time they play. The absolutely rocked Wonderland last night. And of course thanks again to all who came out to help celebrate.
More photos after the jump.
Me thanking everyone (you can kind of see what the new men’s t-shirts look like):

escape pod.
The interior looks fabulous. I can't wait to check it out. I hope the owners can do away...
Wash Vegas!!!!
What a sweet transformation. Hopefully they'll have great selection and prices.
And yet so many other ethnicities have been the target of that very same socio-economic...
Not many black people in PoP-ville, eh?
Yeah because this photo is completely representative of PoPville. Good point, sir. Good point.
Hiss!
So sorry I had to miss this one. Happy (belated) Birthday, man.
What a fun group of people. I enjoyed meeting so many neighbors and friends. Too bad my jerky friends didn’t come.
Last night was a blast, nuff said.
What a constructive, positive tone you set with your opening comment there, anonymous. It is actually very racist in itself. I am so freaking sick of hearing it. As long as people to continue to make everything about race, it will continue to be an issue. This event was open to everyone. Would you suggest that next time PoP resorts to kidnapping people off street corners and out of their living rooms and then staging them throughout the bar so there is an equal balance of race from every possible camera angle in case someone snaps a picture?
All I know is that I had a GREAT time. I enjoyed meeting PoP himself, as well as people from all over the city. The bands were fun, and overall the vibe was awesome. Hope there is another one soon!
I hereby apologize for the opening comment. Knee jerk snarkiness, I am sorry.
Milkmachine is so sweet!!
I was waiting for PoP to kidnap me, but it never happened. I would have been the asian girl in a bumblebee costume……
I LOVE BLACK PEOPLE!
If you look in the corner there’s an albino black person.
Brother Ali !!!!!
I could say – nobody my age there
Jean was there (not photographed) who has lived in the DC area for 72 years…
Jean was quite possibly the coolest person at the party, Hands down. That woman managed to hold my attention for a solid hour talking about how the city has come up over the course of several decades… no easy task.
Sure PoP, there might have been some black people there, but were there any Texans?
Discrimination.
Bummed that i missed it, but i’ll be there next time. Viva Alta Columbia!
That microphone seems a little tall, or is it just that . . .
It was a great time! I have rocked both my women’s and my men’s t shirts this past week! If you haven’t gotten one yet, I suggest you get one soon
2 beers in the little fellas hand…outstanding
