I’ve also liked this building located at the corner of 16th and U. Does anyone know it’s history?

You know, I normaly can give a little history on all kinds of DC spots, but I don’t know the history of that buildings.
One of my ol “Boo’s” lived across the street and I would always pass it and stair at the cool dome/rounded part of the building.

My guess has always been that it was originally a private residence. No idea what it is now.

I believe it’s some sort of private club.

Indeed, it was built as the Congressional Wives Club, which still owns the place! Of course, its now just the Congressional Club. They were founded in 1908.
