While I still don’t like the name, I even feel a bit bad about making fun of the sign previously, I have to say the menu looks pretty good. Also the owner was super nice. So despite I’m gonna forget about the sign and give the place a fair shot. They offer a Red Snapper sandwich for the reasonable price of $6.75. They also have Croaker, Trout, Catfish, Clams, Tilapia, Shrimp and Scallops. All prices range around $6 to $9 depending if you get fries and sides or not. If the food is tasty this could be a great addition. Anyone give them a try yet?

Oh my gosh. It is completely unrecognizable! Look at that ceiling!
Damn! Could be turned into a night club on the weekends.
Dislike. x10000000
Make it stop - who wrote the listing description for that house? What the hell does it...
I was flying around Clinton MD and SE DC and noticed that there is alot of places called
Wing XXXX and Things.
XXXX= burger, Fish etc…
I think I will be checking this place out. Talapia, Catfish, shrimp and crabcakes…hmmmm sounds good.
Sorry but their sign and name “Seafood and Things”…(really? c’mon) disqualifies them. Everytime I went by here I thought it was a place that was already long gone, not actually up and coming. I’m a little disappointed it won’t live out my fantasy and be replaced with something else.
I had a pizza slice- the pizza dough was pretty bland, though the cheese was good.
You shouldn’t apologize for making fun of the sign; it’s called “Seafood and Things” and there is a giant pizza next to it! The only thing funnier would be an Asian restaurant with a sign of puppies and kittens on it!
Oddly enough, this strange sign makes me want to give this place a shot…
To me the “Pollo a la Brasa” sign is way more promising than “Seafood N Things”. I could be convinced to try the pollo. No thanks on the Things though…
I feel bad for making fun of the place now.
I have a friend whose foreign-born wife owns a restaurant and she has no idea what she’s doing and every time he tells me about something new, it’s a parody of Asian people’s views of the United States. And he was born here, he should know better, but you know, she wants to set up a video rental station in her restaurant or she reduced her bread costs by eliminating rye bread or she complained that people want too many kinds of cheese on their sandwiches or that people weren’t ordering her $2.49 hot dogs.
Good luck to these people, but they should have talked to an American about how the restaurant name would be interpreted in our culture.
Some of the best places are those that we wouldn’t expect to be.
Except for the comment about the pizza, no one has said anything about the food, especially the seafood. Any good? I live nearby and if it is, it might meet a neighborhood need. Always glad to help hardworking local business owners who make a good product.

Well, we finally got a chance to eat there. The grilled Tilapia was excellent. It was so good I sent my husband back later to get another order. The sauteed spinach was great also. The sign is a little distracting but the food, is great. It’s nice to have new choices i the neighborhood other than the traditional chinese greasy spoon.
Also, did someone really compare a carryout restaurant with price points averaging $8 bucks per dish to zagat list’s “Little Inn at Washington”…common now.
The menu at this place is all that…..probably because I love seafood! More often than not, you don’t see at least two things…..1) a carry out such as this owned and operated by African-Americans and 2) a menu like the one they have. I heard of this spot from a friend. I frequently venture in to DC from the Sterling/Dulles area and decided to check it out a couple of Sundays ago. WOW!!!!! I had the fried scallops and my son had the pizza. WE LOVED THE FOOD!!!!! The scallops were cooked to perfection and my son gobbled up the big slice of cheese pizza as well as a slice of pie. I will definitely be going back! I trust that, in time, Seafood & Things will become a staple in the Petworth Community! I hope they consider branching out, particularly to the Sterling/Dulles, VA area. PEACE! LOVE! BLESSINGS! MUCH SUCCESS TO THEM!!!!!
Went to four different places on Georgia Ave last night for a wing taste testing bonanza. By far seafood and things had the best overall wings. They were made to our specified “medium spiciness.” Also they come with celery sticks and blue cheese which was not the case for every place we went. Also the owners were very nice and offered to take our picture. The price was a little more than the other places but as with most things you get what you pay for. In this case, the best wings we had all night.
Also the chocolate cake was fantastic! I’m going back to try the seafood and the calzones which are apparently quite good.
