Christmas stuff should stay up until the Epiphany on January 6. It's the last of the 12 Days of Christmas, and marks the arrival of the Magi. However, apparently I'm still on the Julian Calendar and aiming for Jan 19, b/c my tree and other decorations are still very much up.

I don't know about Hanukkah but I was always told that after new years the Christmas stuff should be gone. Though based on what I saw driving around DC yesterday, many disagree.

As a member of the tribe, I'll tell you it's really time to take down the menorah. But it's one of my favorite pieces of Judaica.
As for taking down a Christmas tree, I recently went to a Catholic funeral and the nativity scene as well as other Christmas-related decorations (Poinsettias, etc.) were still up in the church. I was told that they go down after January 6 or 7th, Epiphany, when the Christmas season officially ends.
