You can talk about whatever is on your mind – quality of life issues, a beautiful tree you spotted, scuttlebutt, or any random questions/thoughts you may have. I’ll open this thread every Monday and Friday. Have you recovered from inauguration week yet?

rant: im driving
Rant: My long weekend is making for a looong friday at work.
Revel: Its the weekend, let the lawnchair drinking begin.
Hey! Barack Obama is still our president! Yay!
@ Christopher – drink a rail for me.
ill drink 3 for you flip!
Rave: It’s LOVELY outside.
Rant: I’m stuck working in a basement til 5.
My BK Tendercrisp chicken sandwich is oddly bitter.
Rave: I’m having a birthday party this weekend!
Rant: I have to clean…
Dubya’s gone, it’s nice out, my fantasy football winnings came today, and my team’s going to the Super Bowl. Been a very good week!!
Rave: It’s lovely outside, especially after last weekend’s weather!
Rant: I’m spending most of my day removing window tint from my car windows because DC DMV won’t pass my car for the safety inspection (and let me register) until ALL of the tint is removed even though the car passed inspection fine in Virginia 5 miles south… *grumble*
rave: its BEAUTIFUL outside!
rant: my office is kind of in an attic. :-\
Barack Obama is going to choose Shiloh as the church his family will attend.
kidding!
rant (i am feeling very ranty today sorry): i got stuck in the purple tunnel of doom, my consolation prize is something i already had, I’ve answered the same question 15 times today from the same person, I’ve run the same set of numbers15 for someone who was convinced they’re right when they’re were not and it took them 15 times to figure out they were wrong, my boyfriend is out of touch for over 2 months more due to his army training, oh and did i mention i got stuck in the purple tunnel of doom
rave: no more Bush, my team is going to the superbowl, my parents are coming into town to take me out to dinner and my grad school apps are almost done.
Rave:
It’s nice out and I took a 2 hour lunch (shhhhh! don’t snitch) Saigon Saigon was gooood.
I pick up a new (used) Cannondale F600 Monday to add to my arsenal of bikes.
My inauguration experience was ez and pressure free since I rode the bike down.
I leaned to how to spell “Inauguration” this past two weeks.
I’ve been a beast in the gym and my sexy spin and yoga teachers told me week:)
Rant:
With all the gym work outs I’ve been horny as the DEVIL !!!!
It’s Friday and I have nothing to do after work
Oh Stephanie I’ve been there as well…
Rave: no more Bush!
Rant: My frickin’ DSL has been down for a week. Stupid Earthlink.
Rave: Hey, reading these things called “books” is pretty cool!
Does anyone have a good recommendation for cleaners? The one on the 800 block of Upshur seems to be too bothered by my partners business and we’re looking for a nicer friendlier spot.
Sorry I have nothing but rants today:
Worst work week of my life- I have cried twice, once in front of a coworker.
I have a sore throat and stuffy nose and I am tired.
I have not been able to enjoy the good weather. I am mad.
Rant: I’m in Orlando for a conference with a bunch of people not my typical social circle type, so I’m left to my own devices before heading back tomorrow.
Rave: It’s warmer than DC!
I’m thinking about checking out a show tonight, JJ Grey & MOFRO. It sounds promising, anyone have an opinion?!
Anna, I’m a huge fan of Georgetown Valet on Park Road across from the Giant. It’s a bit further but I too gave up on the one on Upshur.
I’m a huge fan of the Van Ness dry cleaning arbitrage. For some reason, the places there charge $2/item (any item — I get a whole suit cleaned for $4) and $1/shirt. If you’ve got a lot of dry-cleaning and a car, it’s really just straight across the park on Park Rd./Tilden St.. I figure I save a couple hundred bucks a year by making the trek every month or so.
without a car those two options are a bit far to carry dirty shirts, but thank you!! Maybe I’ll just have to make the trek.
Rant: I’ve graded 638 children’s work in the past two days. I see nothing but grids and O’s/S’s/N’s.
Rave: I lost 2 pounds. I really like my new glasses. My dog is happy about the weather, and I’m happy he’s happy.
Rave: Shook the hand of the new Secretary of State today when she visited USAID
Rave: Rode my bike to work and didn’t freeze
Mega Rave: No more torture, no more secret prisons — President Obama!
Rave: My thanks to all the DC natives who put up with those of us from out of town for inauguration weekend. I met a lot of fabulous people and no one – NO ONE – wasn’t welcoming. Pat yourselves on the back – you did a fabulous job!
Rave:
Mission Accomplished to my 1st Rant
