I thought this photo was hilarious. The storefront is filled with historical ceremonial masks but there is one thing a bit out of place. Any explanations?

Upper 14th Street. Near the Original Mocha Hut and Esther’s Treasures. I think the cross street is near Buchanan.
This looks like a hobbyhorse, which has interest, almost like Father Ed Hays books that have a wealth of storytelling.
