Rant: Had a party at our house on Saturday night…as I hardly drink, I’m still recovering. Also, hardly anyone showed up.
Rave: Despite lack of people it was still a really good time!
Rave2: I love SNOW!
snowed inside, but luckily i brought my laptop home yesterday so im working and not using pto today..hooray!
also getting laundry and cleaning done for when my boyfriend gets into town wednesday night… hooray again!
Feels bad for the DCPS students…since most of them walk and many people in this town can’t be bothered to shovel, they’ve got it more difficult than those kids in MoCo…They should all blame Obama for having to go to school today.
RAnt: why is it that when I take my dog to the Park view rec center ball field, with no one playing in the ball field, I shut the gates and let my dog run his paws off, I get yelled at by the staff to leash him…WHILE three teens (or older) are sitting in the playground picnic tables smoking a joint! No harassment at all from the staff.
I’m all about live and let live but how can you have peace without justice?
Rave: snow so freaking beautiful at 6am with said dog sneezing up the flakes
Rave – We’re in the process of buying a rowhouse on Quebec Place, just east of Georgia. I guess we are now Petworthy.
Rant – now I have no money.
Quebecois – you think you have no money now, just wait til you’ve been a homeowner for a couple years, haha! OK, that said, buying a place in Petworth is the best thing I’ve ever done. Welcome to the neighborhood! And living on Quebec has a certain je ne sais quoi, no?
Rant: I’m at work. Getting here was awful, getting home doesn’t look to be much better. The DC Government is SUPPOSED to be open, but nobody’s answering the phone anywhere I call over there, and in general, why couldn’t we have just closed for the day?
Also, I still don’t have a permit.
Also, I really hate snow.
Rave: I ate dinner at Domku last night, and that made me happy.
RAVE: Walked around my neighborhood yesterday and saw some amazing architecture.
RANT: I can’t afford to buy any of the amazing architecture.
Rant: I’m the only one who made it to my office in Alexandria, despite the fact that I’m the only one w/out a car.
Rave: I’m stealin’ stuff from the snack bar.
Rave: Slept in because we had a “two hour delay”
Rant: Got yelled at because I’m the only one who actually took that two hour delay.
Rave: SNOWDAY!!!
Rant: Ha, no rant, because it’s a SNOWDAY!!!
(When I was a little kid, I always used to wonder what teachers did on snow days, and whether they got as excited as the kids about them. Now, I know)
RAVE: I went out to shovel my sidewalk and steps this morning and my neighbors (on both sides) had done it for me!
I decided to pay it forward and shoveled the sidewalk and steps of the elderly neighbor two doors down.
Maybe it should snow more often.
RANT: I can’t rant in the Beautiful Life.
Rant: So sick of snow and cold weather.
Rave: Despite all the snow delays and cancellations, my flight back into town today was on time and without incident.
rave1: I GOT INTO GRAD SCHOOL!!
rant1: said grad school is very expensive and the funding letter hasnt come yet!
rave2: I love snow! I love 2 hour delays! I love that i can walk to work!
Rant: DCPS was open. How stupid it makes us when EVERY OTHER SCHOOL SYSTEM is closed.
RAVE: I called in sick because I knew everyone else would be out and I didn’t want to have to babysit their kids with no lesson plans and nothing for them to do. Forget about them calling subs on a day like this.
Today I realized that I have the perfect job. Art teacher for a bunch of great little kids, playing all day and being dirty, and staying home (and playing outside) with my terrific dog on snow days. Per-fect.
RANT: The Bachelor did not want Melissa.
