With such a competitively priced neighbor, #1 is going to need to drop their price to avoid their short sell going into foreclosure. Aside from the fireplace I’m not seeing any fantastic character in it. The living room gets almost no daylight, looks at a brick wall and has a sloped ceiling from a staircase cutting through it.

#2 has a few things I’m not so crazy about. I don’t like the bullet-shaped metal pendants in the kitchen. I don’t like that they extended the kitchen into the living room and butted countertops up against windows that have a sill too low for a countertop. I think the black granite floors in the living room are too cold for that kind of space.

But when it comes down to “good deal or not” I think #2 is by far the better deal. Way better finishes. Its own patio. Hands down #2.

The second isn’t too bad, especially for the price…

I sort of hate the kitchen in the second one, even though it’s more “updated.” It’s like they went through the HGTV checklist of “modern” kitchen features (stainless, granite, glass tile) without any sense of whether they work together.
