Yesterday one of them declined to send a fax for me. (She said, I couldn't figure out how to make it work. Later she said, the problem was the 202 area code.) These secretaries are unionized. I am ready to sit down and hear them out, but my other 6 coworkers say they've already provided feedback through the union hierarchy channels with the only result being more surliness. My coworkers have been living with this laziness and attitude for 8 years and they believe the ladies are working at their highest potential. Rant:

(and I do miss the creosote smell of the next bridge up from there) Also, last year there was a big-ass beaver - (like volkswagon size) right near the bottom of beach drive, just where it's closed off on weekends. And a rave from my dog - 98 years old in people years - who very nearly caught her 6th squirrel yesterday. And one more nature pitch - this should be peak weekend for dogwood hill at the arboretum. I've seen plenty of hawks in this area - usually around the big field across the street near picnic area #1 but this is the first time for a Bald Eagle.
