Last week we discussed the benefits of straw for growing grass on your lawn. I’m not sure what this material is but it seemed to have worked spectacularly. This grass is very thick and it came up rather quickly. Anyone know what the material is?

Burlap
It’s a jute mat, otherwise known as burlap, but with finer fibers than the basic roll of burlap you would buy at home depot.
Still doesn’t beat sod – just ask Taxi dog.
Looks like somone’s weave to me.
its much better than straw/hay. Keeps seeds from blowing away and keeps birds out.

Also known as Landscapers’ Burlap. These thin, transparent mesh sheets of burlap made of jute or hemp, are very effective and eco-friendly.
