This is from the little (soon to be) garden behind Red Rocks and 11th Street. Loved this sign.

The students of E.L. Haynes created these signs for the new Columbia Heights Green. They just put some plants in the ground this afternoon–feel free to stop by and check it out! The students have been lugging water from the school and are wondering if anyone has a nearby hose we can access?

Cool! I didn’t realize that this space was getting upgraded! So, is this going to be a community garden, dog park, or some combination of things? Is this getting support from DCPR? I live about 2 blocks from here, so I might even be into planting something…

Nate: Does the back of RedRocks face this interior courtyard? I’ll bet they’d be into helping if it does…

Washington Parks & People have been in the process of taking over the land. Haynes is just helping getting things started. Please join us!
