I gave Howard Theater the Horse’s Ass Award at the beginning of the month. Well, I’ve gotten a few emails that work has finally started! Awesome. One reader sums it up nicely:
“It’s news because they are finally starting the long awaited work on Howard Theater.”
Indeed. And if you have Horse’s Ass Award recommendations please email me at princeofpetworth(at)gmail(dot)com

Orange kitties are little psychos.
I have torties (and a tabby). Not quite as psycho.
I'll probably never go there either, not convenient for me. But I concur that it does...
Examples of clean lines include the Parthenon, the Empire State Building and the...
I actually think it's more like "NoMa has fewer residents around to complain about...
I like the overall design of it, but just a bit too many material choices for my taste....

What in the hell is it about to become? a movie theater???

VONSTALLIN! welcome back
Fort totten Square needs to be nominated.
Race season started so I end up doing alot of crap when not out of town racing, like training n ordering parts and spending alot of time on my racing message boards…since its Contract Bid time again, I had to stop racing (last big accident took me out for 7 months).
Plus my %$&* boss demoted me for 2 months because i wore earings to work (in this weeks rant and raves).
So I think ill have some more time for a minute.
Thanks 10:48am
for the link I cant say I like the new front design, but ultra happy they are finaly doing somthing with this landmark. It bothered me for decades how it was so trashed. I still like the classic styles and would have loved a update like they did with the Tivoli Theater.
I agree with that the Howard Theater needs and is getting attention, as that and the former Wonder Bread factory could be the spark for revitalization, not necessarily gentrification as that trend is suspect.
I can recall the Howard Theater was abandoned in the early and mid 80′s as the now renovated Southern Aid Building nearby was derelict, as on cold winter days, men would gather in front keeping warm with setting barrels of trash on fire.
It will be a blessing to have the Howard Theater operational again.
