Vote for the Coolest Pet in PoPville

Voting for the overall winner will be open until Wed., 11:59 pm. I know there was some question as to voting irregularities. So I’m gonna keep a close watch over this poll. Should obvious irregularities emerge the finalist will be disqualified. Of course you can have friends and family vote but no programming votes. All the pets this year brought lots of joy to lots of people so thanks for entering. Good luck to the finalists. Let’s keep the vote honest!

All I can say is that, on the one hand, Dre looks like the spokesdog for that luxury vehicle you definitely want to be seen in while Calliope is a spokesbird for the city bus. If coolness is your factor for best pet, this contest has a paws-down winner.
By the way, apropos of nothing, I just saw a guy panhandling with a lampshade on his head rolling down the center of FL Ave near GA Ave.

This one dimensional cyberspace reunion falls short.
It’s not enough. These really cool finalists are pet neighbors deserving of better.
A real life reunion of all three together with their owners at Grant Circle (pictured above) for a couple hours on a Sunday afternoon every summer with subsequent on line voting could be a cool gathering of Petworth neighbors
-perhaps some bringing their good semi finalists like Oz, Lumpy, Winston, Oreo, and ferocious Oliver.

That’s not true. He was sitting on my lap. I did put the fork in his paw, which he then gripped with his thumb and started biting. This was right before he started attacking the fork. My hand is simply petting his neck because well – he’s really soft.

I don’t know either pet or owner, but posting photos would appear to be a violation of rules. The cat appears cute and holding a fork is a cute pet trick. Cute is not the equivalent of cool, however. The dog possesses the studied nonchalance, the “sprezzatura” that is the essence of cool.
