Thanks to a reader for alerting me to this spot across from Lauriol Plaza. The permits says that it will be a “New fine wine shop with tasting”. Here’s to hoping the tastings are complimentary…

I AM looking for a job
I think 20 years from now we will say..."ew"
Living in such a light less place would drive me to self violence.
Yes! How could I have forgotten the sauce. Ohhh, that sauce...
I have a part Oriental of some sort (I think Tonkinese, but will never know for sure),...
I’ve been waiting for this place to open forever! Jack Ansonia has been a respected sommelier for some of the most respected fine restaurants in this town for decades. To see his dreams come to fruition is a real treat.
How do the ANC, half dozen neighborhood groups, and the other current liquor-license holders feel about this? Did this pretty much proceed in relative silence, or did I miss a year’s worth of outraged demands for a voluntary agreement and ANC protests?
The good thing is that the community now has a place to go get wine. There is such a lack of wine shops and bars in the immediate area. But now the desert has a sparkling oasis to be.
Wait, this place is being opened by THE Jack Ansonia? Holy crap, y’all don’t know what you’re in for. It’s going to be AMAZING.
