Back in March I saw the Big Chair in Anacostia for the first time. And now I’ve finally seen the one at the Duke Ellington School at 35th and Reservoir Road. How many big chairs are there in the city?

I’ve never really referred to it as the big chair in Anacostia. We always called it the big chair in front of Curtis Brothers’ Furniture. But I guess that store closed down over 25 years ago and the chair remained. It was always so cool to see as a kid, back before none of you were born, when white people lived in Anacostia, which was over 40 years ago. Just remembering…
