Always something exciting going on over on the H Street, NE corridor. I noticed this sign on the 1200 block when I hit one of their other great new great spots, Little Miss Whiskey’s Golden Dollar (1104 H St, NE).
I’m super intrigued about SOUK. I’m not sure if it’s going to be a market or restaurant or both but I love Mediterranean Cuisine so stay tuned for an update on this spot when they open.

Looks like they’re pretty close to opening, if DC cooperates.
I picked up their menu card at SOVA and the prices are very friendly. Appetizers at $4 to $6 for the normal hummus to bastilla, mergues. Good salads that include nice, but definitely not boring, vegetarian options. Sandwiches with fries or side salad at $7 to $8.
The entrees cover a good range from kebabs to stuffed lamb shanks and tagines. Fish and vegetarian too, at $9 to $13.
This will be a terrific addition to the 1200 block of H. Open SOON, please!
Tommy Wells got Fenty to commit to doing H St streetcars first and to order DDOT to accelerate the implemention. Huge news for H St. http://hstreetgreatstreet.blogspot.com/2009/10/fenty-wells-streetcars-for-h-st-now.html
The food is good and totally inexpensive. Worth a visit.
