Admiring Architecture

This was such a beautiful sight. I found it in the Woodland-Normanstone Terrace neighborhood not far from Woodley Park. I’m not sure if it is a proper carriage house. I was particularly taken with the blue roof and the extension to the main house.

    A cloister (from Latin claustrum) is a covered walk with an open colonnade on one side, running along the walls of buildings that face a quadrangle or garth. The attachment of a cloister to a cathedral or church usually indicates that it is (or was once) part of a monastic foundation.

    Any good builders of cloisters known in the DC area? I want to build one! I thinking faux with stucco, likely more affordable than actual blocks?
