This home is located at 1113 Lamont Street, NW:

The flier says:

“You Can Expect End unit Federal, 6bdrms/4.5bths, Renovated, Chef’s Kit, Granite/SS/Lrg Cabinets, Scrn’d & Open Porches, Gated Prking, Custom Lighting, Hrdwds, High Ceilings, Lrg Wndws, 4 Decorative FP’s, Arch details thru out, Mult exposures, Fnc’d front & back grdns, LL income unit.”

More info and photos found here.

I’m a pretty big fan of this section of Lamont as it is so close to all the goods on 11th and 14th Streets, yet the block seems really quiet. And the house itself is pretty damn sweet as well. This one falls just under the technical $1 million price tag required for house porn but I thought it was worth taking a look. What do you think of the house itself? It’s yours for $985,000.

    Not exactly house “porn”
    Too ordinary a DC house.

  • Richard

Sorry, I missed the disclaimer about being under the million dollar mark, but still, not porn. Still, too ordinary.

  • JenDC

    Ordinary?

Oh my gosh I’ll take it.

    If only.

Why is the realtor calling this an end unit? You shouldn’t use that term if there is another building attached to you. It’s misleading, or in the words of this brilliant realtor it is not “You Can Expect End unit”.

    Otherwise, I think its awesome.

  • Eric in Ledroit

ordinary?!?! are you serious? that is a beautiful renovation – finally one that retains a decent amount of original detail but still plenty of modern updates.

  • Molly

Like it, but think it is a bit overpriced. I imagine it will sell for 900k.

    Love the back sun porch…!

  • Nice reno. Good job maintaining some of the original details. But I don’t know if the location warrants the near million-dollar price tag.

I love the house. I bet there are only a few rowhouses at this price point in 20010 Zip, that would concern me.

  • GoFish

Beautiful. But price wise? Get real.

  • MK

PoP, you must have been drooling at the ivy covered beauty across the street from this one but, alas, it’s not for sale and it doesn’t have a fire escape. Have a great Thanksgiving.

  • SingLikeSassy

I think this is just lovely.

What I find interesting, and a little frustrating, about this house is that the owners have both decorated (changeable) and renovated (more permanent) in a real mash-up of victorian (formal) and quasi-modern (informal) styles. It results in kind of a schizophrenic house. Perhaps it’s the outcome of two spouses with different styles who have negotiated a compromise that made them both happy when they were living there, but when you put it on the market, it shows kinda weird. At that price point, I would want it to be one or the other; as-is, the buyer would need to do the work to pull it together into a single design language.

  • IHeartShaw

I agree with Mike W…. Weird color and fabric print combinations, too.

Locally I prefer NPR and WPFW. I also listen to Seattle's KEXP on the internet.
