It’s a terrific park. I used to go that way on Mass Ave and I was always floored by the architecture of the embassies and churches and homes.

I always want to see the artist credited – and this one is easy – Gordon Kray, an exceptional sculptor based in DC. An absolute must-see is his Madonna in St. Matthew’s Cathedral – 1725 Rhode Island Ave. NW. (The rest of the Cathedral is crazy beautiful too – practically wallpapered inside with about 100 shades of marble.)
