  • Prince Of Petworth

Crazy, the article says it is headed to auction Nov. 18. I wonder if this will have an impact on folks that are already living there?

  • kc

rant: crappy weekend, complete with friends being jerks.
rave: leaving work soon to play hooky and enjoy the weather by going to the zoo!

  • Dog walker

Revel: met POP on Sunday (out walking my dog, what a cliche I am)

Rant: found three nice bikes in the alley across the street early Sunday morning (2 mt bikes/one road bike). Obviously stolen. Trying to locate owners. Anyone out there missing some bikes from the weekend or before?

  • TJ

Rant: Dave Stroup’s hostility against PoP. Blog fights remind me of arguments on a playground.

Rant: I regret moving out of Columbia Heights

  • Emmaleigh504

Rant: I forgot to read Post Secret the past several Sundays.
Rave: Little Debbie has a snack for me.

  • Dead Presidents

How is Dave Stroup being hostile by posting an unsolicited e-mail?

I’m sorry, but this Allegro Apartments thing really just makes me laugh. I’ve heard they want 2175 for some of their one bedrooms, absolutely obscene.

  • Rave: Friday nite:

Rode with friends Friday night in upper 30 degree weather. DC to Tysons To Mongolian BBQ in bethesda then back to Adams Morgan. Froze my ass off, but good to be out with a dozen cool biker friends on what would have been a boring night at home with TIVO and DVD’s.

    Rave: Saturday:
Went to DCUSA to finaly check out Target and Best buys. You know this should be more of a Rant…. The place was a Zoo. Clothes and Crazy spanish kids all over the place.

Best buys was about as small as my house. But I guess since I found what i was looking for in both stores without having to deal with Virginia traffic its a Rave. I had a cool sense of pride that I can get to almost everything I need within 3 to 9 minutes from my house. Now I know why the Gentri’s want in…. lol.

    Rave: Sunday
Again jump on the motorbike and met up with 17 friends and took country roads thru Delaware and PA to hit south Philly to eat at Tony Luke’s. On the way back saw Accident that had 95 back up for 10 miles. But the detour we took lead us on more adventurous roads.

This weekend was a Win WIn….

  • MPinDC

Rave – Celebrated my father turning 80, a friend turning 50, helped build a community garden and took my first hoop workout class this weekend.

Beautiful weather for planting pansies (75% off at Lowe’s) and a bike ride downtown.

  • Leslie

    Dog Walker -

My housemate’s bike was stolen on October 24th! It’s a silver Fuji Crosstown with a basket on the back. Does that match the description of any of the bikes you found?? If so, please, please give me a call at 651-301-0213!!!

    Leslie

  • TJ

    St Paul area code. Holla

  • Fellow Petworthian

Rant: Been sick for over a week, no it’s not hamthrax! Just a nasty virus that won’t quit.

Revel: Manny has been found! He was found wandering around Cabin John Park in Maryland and brought to the Montgomery County Shelter, where he was reunited with his very relieved and happy owner! Thanks for posting the info PoP and it helped generate a lead on a Manny look-alike!

  • let me say

I had noticed on their website the 1 bedroom was listed as “starting at $1825” when during the summer it was $1750. I couldn’t figure out if they raised the prices or they updated the website to reflect what was available (all the cheaper ones being rented). I guess they raised their prices, which is ballsy. Maybe this, along with the new building down the street and the one at petworth will drive rents down? One can dream.

  • Dog walker

Sorry, the 2 mt bikes are trail types and have fat tires. The road bike is a racing style/ med-high end. No racks/no baskets

  • Rukasu

@let me say: It’s not untypical for places to lower their prices during the summer and raise during the winter. Apartment buildings see a lot of vacancies that time of year as college kids and spring interns are moving out. It’s a flux period, so they need to draw in as many new people as they can, that usually results in lower prices or waived applications/move-in fees or just lower rents

  • Petworth Newbie

Rave: Beautiful weekend for trips to Brookside Gardens with the little ‘uns. Wheaton is farther away than I remember. It’s more wintry up there because there are more tulip tress, which are all leafless now. Almost three year old is acting surprisingly mature lately (except when not.)
    Rant: Mice! Yuckety yuck!

  • Rusty Shackleford

Rave – 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall!

  • believe it...

had a threesome on saturday (my first!). we used ample protection, so no fear.

    fall of the berlin wall.

    caps won saturday

dined at Redwood, in Bethesda, which is probably my new favorite DC area restaurant. Highly recommended.

  • Ugh

Management passed out tips on avoiding H1N1, tips from an unknown source. But it’s ok, b/c boss lady has seen the tips “around”, so they must be true. Ugh

  • Herb

    Rave: Wednesday is a Holiday!

What else is there to say?

  • Prince Of Petworth

@Dead Presidents I wrote that email after he anonymously commented on PoP suggesting I was taking money for running the Flip’t post. That sorta pushed me over the edge. I should’ve known he would publish the email but I standby everything I wrote. His constant lecturing of me about how to be a full time blogger has become tiresome and I’ve lost interest. A good friend of mine has warned me on numerous occasions that if you wrestle with pigs you are bound to get muddy. I need to remember that advice.

    I should add my Rave:

I met so many people this weekend who were so kind to me and have received so many emails of support that I am truly humbled by many folks’ kindness. And it is a gorgeous day today!

  • Nichole

RAVE/RANT – I judged a neighborhood chili (and cornbread) cookoff this weekend. Rave because Holy Sh*t that was awesome and everyone involved was so freakin’ cool and we all had so much fun. Rant because 25 chilis and 8 cornbreads is a lot, and my stomach is still not right. Nevertheless, this is mostly a rave.

Rave: Awesome weather. Please hold out for camping this weekend!

  • MK

Rave: Scheduled Comcast and Verizon to come out the same day and they both came early and fixed/upgraded everything!

Rant: I don’t get Wednesday off.

  • Goot Lemmon

Rant: Who in the hell is Dave Stroup, and why should I care?

  • JW

Rant: Feeling a little left out at the moment.

Rave: My chandelier project is coming along. I only had to spend about $20 and I think it is going to look awesome in my dining room. So ready to get rid of the heavy, ugly, doesn’t go with the house chandelier that is up there now.

  • Goot Lemmon

Re: Dave Stroup: Good lord, no wonder the kid has issues: http://www.flickr.com/photos/finalcut/242844095/

  • Binklesworth

Revel: I’m on a business trip in Germany, spending most of my per deim on beer.

Rant: because of this, I missed the PoP party on Thursday.

Revel: spent the weekend in Zurich, where I continued to spend my per diem on beer.

Rant: miss my gal and my cats

Rave: trip to the Cabaret Voltaire in Zurich – birthplace of the Dada art movement. Reminds me that Fred Phelps and the rest of his “church” are the best permormance artists out there.

Bonus rave: I’m on the S-Bahn in Stuttgart where someone was just whistling the Darth Vader theme.

don’t forget , if everyone have the same tools its just an orgy….
    lol

ps: Rave I have wednesday off….

  • Anonymous

….and I will also send multiple emails to other blogs calling you out for sanitizing your comments. So you’ll let blatant racists comment freely but not someone who criticizes your operation? The “beautiful life” indeed!

and thanks for posting stroupmedia.com. You’re just giving Dave more page views and upping its Google rank.

  • Prince Of Petworth

@anon 3:26 I’ve never deleted a comment from him. And do you not see the irony of your comment right here…?

  • Herb

“…if you wrestle with pigs you are bound to get muddy….”

So true, so true. Rise above it. I wouldn’t have even known if you hadn’t linked.

    I’m Team PoP BTW…

  • Alfredo

    Team PoP, indeed!

Don’t even give Team Douchebag the time of day, Dan.

  • hmm

OK. I am an idiot, but I don’t see anything about PoP on Dave Stroup’s site. Just some articles about a mayoral candidate and the Metro.

  • POP….
make everyone accountable for their comments…have everyone create S/N….

  • Hiphop-anonymous

Rave: Yesterday afternoon I just sat in Lincoln Park and watched the dogs playing for over an hour. It was fantastic!

Rant: Organizing my non-profit’s Fannie Mae Help the Homeless Walkathon effort, and only two weeks left to go. I NEED MORE WALKERS!!! Can’t even wait unitl…crap, March. Am I seriously going to be this busy until March???

  • WashingTRON

i second vonstallin. takes 2 minutes to create a username, and everyone’s accountable. and no one need worry about “imposter” posts, either.

  • Dead Presidents

Dan, thanks for contextualizing the e-mail. I’m not being sarcastic in that it gave me a much better look at the situation.

Keeping running your stuff here and doing so in a classy, reader friendly way.

  • Jim

If you wrestle with pigs, finish them off by smoking them, and then make ham and bacon.

  • FH

PoP — ignore that ignoramus with the bowl-cut . . . he is just trying to use you to inflate his own page counts. I love your site! Keep on keepin’ on.

  • Golden Silence

Revel: Had a get-together with friends this past weekend. It was a little subdued (due to the food!) but I enjoyed myself.

Random Revel: I love the scarves you picked for the photo used in this R&R!
