Admiring Carriage Houses

It’s also been a while since I’ve spotted a (new to me) carriage house. Would this be considered a proper carriage house?

In my opinion, it definitely looks like a proper carriage house, though it is hard to tell without context. That header was definitely put there so that the whole opening there could be open. Is it in a neighborhood that could have supported a carriage house at one point in time? Is there a large stately mansion or apartment building nearby? (It is true that some apartment buildings had large, multiple carriage houses, see kalorama mews on 19th between mintwood and biltmore)

  • I don’t see any carriages.

does it have a second floor hayloft door? no? then it’s not a carriage house.
