Thanks to a reader for the heads up on the work going on at 3543 Georgia Ave. across from the EL Haynes charter school. Sadly, there was a bit of a language barrier in my brief chat with the workers out front. They did however confirm that a restaurant was going in. When I asked what type they said American but I’ll be sure to follow up when they open. And in nearby news it was nice to see the new Senior Center rising a half block to the south at Georgia and Newton:

+1 just not getting what the hope was of posting this.
Am I the only person who lives in the U Street Area to have a problem with the fact that...

Another American restaurant! Don’t we already have enough of those in DC.
Any improvement on Georgia Avenue beside, jay-walkers, litter-bugs, criminals, liquor stores, nail salons, and all those strange little barber shops can only be an improvment. Our little part of the city is quickly and finally changing!
And by the way, get over the “Park View” identification folks… it will go away sooner rather than later. Just like Shaw was once called “Old City” so will go Park View and Pleasant Plains, and so…

What’s wrong with nail salons and barber shops? People get their hair cut and their nails done. I’m curious to see if they actually mean Spanish food, or food they think people around here who primarily speak Spanish eat. Two very different cuisines.
