Lots of exciting news has been hitting Georgia Ave lately with the coming soon signs for Sala Thai and Park Place Cafe. Now we can look forward to the coming of Billy Simpson’s which is the new venture coming from the owners of Marvin. It’s a small step but always nice to see progress actually start.
Here’s the other building that will be demo’d. Though remember it is only internal demo as the building itself (first photo above) has historic significance.

Totally Excited!!!
I walk past this twice a day, and I noticed that something was afoot on Monday. This morning, there were a bunch of guys clearing the sidewalk of snow, and they looked ready to start working on the inside.
This is great news. With investments such as this, Georgia Ave. is clearly gathering steam around the metro station. Maybe, someday, these types of endeavors will extend all the way north to Upshur or Kansas.
I’m hearing that the new place is going to have some of the best steak and seafood in town, much like the original Billy Simpson’s. It will be a classic surf n turf place.
This is going to be awesome! and probably other restaurants will follow.
Where will WestindianArchie get his Weed Roti from, looks like all of te Caribbean Resturants are being taken over by the WF.
