This apartment is located at 3614 Connecticut Avenue NW:
The Craigslist ad says:
“Your home features a huge walk-in closet the size of a bedroom, carpet and an eat-in kitchen to boot!
Stop looking and start living, this home offers prime location for less! Located in the heart of Adams Morgan just steps from Cleveland Park metro station (Red line); choose the convenience of walking to shops and stores or metro to your desired location.”
Why would they say “in the heart of Adams Morgan” when this is nowhere near the heart of Adams Morgan? Not to mention Cleveland Park is a desirable area in and of itself.
Anyway does $1225 sound reasonable for this 500 square foot studio (no pets)?

Orange kitties are psycho- I have one and he's nuts. Adorable, but nuts.
Yeah, that right there would have me walking out the door. Nothing says "You'll...
Columbia Heights and Georgia Ave opened on the same day.
I love it love it love it. I live nearby (Eckington), and bike by it almost every day....
Beautiful building, BOLD, which is a rarity in DC. Not sure how people think there is too...
I also suspect the image is not of the apartment described, since there is no carpet in the image.
Hell, why not call it Adams Morgan? As long as realtors are calling my place “Columbia Heights,” you could call Cleveland Park a suburb of Zurich.
I would say this is my GF’s old place. That place is a dump. She had plaster fall in her tub once a week. Im talking chunks that would knock you out. I finally got her out and moved her in with me in Cohigh. Serioulsy that place is a RIP OFF. Its right on the corner next to the library. No parking,no space, no help with things fell apart. Crapcity
Their advertising tagline for a 500 sq ft studio is “Dont sacrifice space to save” WTF?
p.s. the text right below that you have to enter to post for me says “rigorous spawning” hahahaha
Gotta love that description. It’s about two miles from the heart of Adams Morgan.
I feel sorry for the unsuspecting tenant who, having heard Adams Morgan is a fun neighborhood, moves in, only to quickly discover that he or she is not in Adams Morgan or, indeed, anywhere particularly close. That’s the victim this landlord seems to want to create, probably, I’m guessing, because the apartment is too shabby and overpriced to attract anyone with a clue anyway, so why not lie about its location? In short, I think this is more than likely a bad deal.
No, this place is a few doors past Porter (where the 7-11 is). I know what building you’re talking about, because I looked at it as well – it is a dump! I lived at 3614 for 2 years. The building was alright overall, although the noise was terrible – ceilings were thin so I heard my upstairs neighbor constantly, the building right across the alleyway had parties a lot, and the garbage truck made a racket just outside my window. I enjoyed the convenience of living right in Cleveland Park, though the business landscape has changed a bit there since I moved. No more coffee shops, Magruders closed…
You’d have to be an idiot to pay that much for that studio in that location.
