Mid City Deli is located at the corner of 14th and P Streets, NW. This is kinda funny as I’ve often admired the sign:
But I had no idea they were actually open. While I’m obviously not expecting fine dining here, I’m just wondering if this is a good spot to grab an egg sandwich? Anyone ever stop by?

I went to the local boys and girls club there when I was younger. If you want a good breakfast sandwich or a good fish sanwich they are your spot. They also have the best french fries (crinkle cut). It beats YUM’s!
I used to (a year ago) live around the corner from this joint. Definitely a greasy spoon but nice people. Great breakfast sandwiches (especially if you’re hung over). I also like their breakfast platter… the pre-butter/jam your toast and they don’t skimp!
Run by a nice (well, nice enough) Asian lady and her son, who may or may not have a disability.
Go, its better than yums, that’s for sure!
Great bunch of people and good cheap carryout fare. I’m amazed it’s still in business given the rents and the fact that they haven’t raised their prices since McKinley was shot.
The breakfast sandwiches are really good, although I’ve only been once. What I love about the place is that another scruffy looking deli is right next door.
Tasty food when I went! I got a sausage, egg and cheese sandwich.
I second the sausage, egg and cheese sandwich. Great breakfast food place.
that place smells funny, and there is grease buildup literally flaking off the menu.
I believe that the building is owned by the guys who run the barbershop around the corner.
I’m sure the food is great, but the putrid smell of rotting fish makes me want to vomit when I walk past at night.
