Wow! That is a frickin’ lot of money for a 1 BR. WTF is a Moving-in, Moving-out fee?

  • I’m going with…um no..I don’t care what neighborhood it is in dc..2800 for a 1 bedroom is too much if it looks like this place…The place is nice, but what counts as “luxury” now?

You’re paying for a view, but getting bricks instead. after one year you will have spent 34,000 dollars on rent…

You can rent a two bedroom place for that in Dupont. for me, this is not a good deal. However, for some it may be.

    • I like cheese

You can find a 2BR in Dupont for this much? with parking? I think that would be pretty hard to find.

  • expensive, but i love the windows and hardwood and gas range! and so BIG!

  • my captcha is my credit

Comparable 2BRs in the big buildings around 18th and Columbia are $2800 for one bath, no balcony, no parking, and a much older building that is conveniently located near 0 metro stops. This may not be everyone’s cup of tea but for a lawyer couple that works downtown these are some pretty sweet digs. Reserved 24 hour parking around there is what, $200 a month?

  • L.

It’s only remotely reasonable if you do it as a 2BR or are a rich couple. Good area though, I used to live at 11th & M and liked it.

  • grumpy

Depends whether the den has a window- if it doesn’t then i wouldn’t want to use it as a bedroom and i’d say not a good deal. If it has a window and the room is just on the small side, maybe with no closet, then its probably priced about right.

  • Greg

Does it come with the hide rug?

  • ogden

There is a floorplan in the link. The den has neither a closet nor a window. Both the bedroom and the den are pretty small (12×12 and 8×10). The second bathroom doesn’t have a tub. There is no dining area. And the balcony is so small its practically unusable.

I think the ad stretches it a bit in saying it is close to McPherson square metro. It’s 3/4 mile away.

12×12? I’m pretty sure there are college dorms that are bigger than that dross.

Sounds about as reasonable as killing a fly by fumigating your room with DDT.

  • Petworthian

If your bedroom doesn’t have a window or other egress, it is a fire trap and should NEVER be used as a 2nd bedroom. Totally illegal.
This is a good location, you could drag yourself home from Lima by your elbows.

  • Totally reasonable, actually a bargain. Same unit in building just rented for $3100 month. Welcome to DC folks!
