While we admired the new green paint job at Bar Pilar (1833 14th St, NW) a couple of weeks ago, I had no idea they’d be closing soon for the planned renovations into the 2nd floor. The Washington Post shared the word:
“Bar Pilar will close after this Sunday, Nov. 27, to allow construction work to begin on its long-planned second floor restaurant and bar, including the addition of a staircase in what is now the dining room. The closure will be indefinite, depending on how smoothly construction goes. Management hopes to reopen in time for New Year’s Eve.”
They also remind us that Standard (14th and S St, NW) only has 6 more days until they close for the Winter.
