Prince of Petworth (PoP), chronicles the happenings in Washington DC’s neighborhoods (PoPville) with a particular focus on Petworth, Columbia Heights, Park View, Pleasant Plains, U Street, Mt. Pleasant, Logan Circle, Shaw, Adams Morgan, Dupont Circle, Cleveland Park, Woodley Park, Georgetown, Chinatown/Penn Quarter, H Street, NE, Capitol Hill and others.
Topics covered include quality of life, real estate, development, restaurants, bars, renovations, art, music, museums and other general observations. Today PoP averages over 200,000 visitors per month and this number is steadily growing.
PoP was created by Dan Silverman in November 2006. Silverman has been quoted and/or featured in the New York Times, Financial Times, Washington Post, Washington Examiner, WUSA CBS Channel 9, WTTG Fox 5, NPR, WAMU 88.5FM, Washington City Paper, the Current Newspapers, DC North and many other local publications. In 2009, Washingtonian magazine called PoP – the “King of Neighborhood Blogs”.
The site’s success would not be possible without its regular contributors, tipsters and dedicated community of frequent commenters.
