About

Prince of Petworth (PoP), chronicles the happenings in Washington DC’s neighborhoods (PoPville).

Topics covered include quality of life, real estate, architecture, development, restaurants, bars, transit, politics, city government, crime and other general observations. The site has become an indispensable resource for those seeking to navigate the joys and difficulties of living and working in our nation’s capital. Today PoP averages over 900,000 monthly page views and this number is steadily growing.

PoP was created by Dan Silverman in November 2006. Silverman has been quoted and/or featured in the New York Times, Financial Times, Washington Post, Washingtonian Magazine, NBC Washington Channel 4, WUSA CBS Channel 9, WTTG Fox 5, WJLA ABC 7, NPR, WAMU 88.5FM, and many other local publications.

Washingtonian magazine has called PoP – the “King of Neighborhood Blogs” and The Washington Post has written that PoP, “probably knows more about the District than some beat cops”.
