Anti-Putin protests hit Glover Park this weekend. I saw this scene outside the Russian embassy on Wisconsin Avenue.

The funny thing was from a distance, it looked like they were protesting the Christmas tree lot. I’m very glad I was wrong about that one.

Though, I’m pretty sure this guy was just waiting for the bus:

“I just wanted to report that last week there was a mountain lion sighting in McLean Gardens on the edge of Glover Park. I know it sounds crazy but two people were witness to the cat. I seems to be a young one, not fully grown. He was sighted at around 1:00 pm on October 17th. This seems to coincide with the two sightings reported in the news in August this year, one in Loudon County and the other in DC in the District Heights area.”

Mason Inn recently opened up in the former Gin & Tonic space at 2408 Wisconsin Ave NW. Their Web site says:

Old Europe is located at 2434 Wisconsin Ave NW. Their Web site says:

Fortunately a Bruegger’s Bagel Bakery is located not too far away at 2334 Wisconsin Ave NW.

And Dupont Circle’s new Bethesda Bagels can’t open soon enough!

Back in July ’10 we noticed that Arisu Korean restaurant had closed at 1734 Wisconsin Ave NW. Last weekend I noticed the arrival of Shanghai Lounge coming soon.

From a press release:

Chipotle, (chi-POAT-lay), the popular quick-service restaurant chain that, according to The Washington Post, “has long been a pioneer in bringing sustainable and organic food to the masses”, will start dishing up its award-winning gourmet burritos, bowls, tacos and salads to the public on Tuesday, May 17 in the Districts Glover Park neighborhood. The restaurant is located at 2338 Wisconsin Ave, NW directly across from the park’s south side. This is the ninth Chipotle to open in DC.
