Props to the folks from Social Studies DC.
Thanks to all who sent links. What would you have added? They’re both pretty funny – but ours is better!

In my journeys cataloging weather vanes around town – this is the first cow I’ve seen. This one’s from Georgetown.

Near U St, NW. I wonder why they don’t want it repaired?

Earlier today a reader shared his great gingerbread house and asked – Wonder if any of your readers have something more exquisite than this?
This one is a pretty good contender:
“This unbelievable elaborate gingerbread house was designed for residents of Sunrise Senior Living’s The Jefferson in Arlington. Each year, the Jefferson creates these amazing DC themed gingerbread feasts.”

The designs on some of these are seriously awesome.

I don’t like them as much as the awesome lights from the Cleveland Park bridge. But they’re still pretty sweet. Anyone know if they work? The building is at North Capitol and H St, NW.

Thanks to Victoria for sending this insanely awesome combination. It’s almost good enough for a caption contest…

I swear I’m not a morbid guy – Rock Creek Church cemetery simply has so much to see (as others have noted) especially in autumn.

Sweet! Contenders for the coolest parents in town? I imagine there was a debate between a garage/roof deck or this basketball court…

From outside Eastern Market. Any motorcycle enthusiasts ever hear of this one?

And thanks to a reader for spotting this license plate:

@IAFF36 tweets around 7:40am Sun. Morning:
“Confined Space Rescue – 1200 6th St NW – one person stuck in storm drain
*UPDATE – 1200 6th St NW – patient has been extricated from storm drain, EMS evaluating”
Still waiting to hear on how the guy got into the storm drain.

Alley of 1800 block of 6th St, NW
And in what appears to be a completely separate incident, a reader sends in the photo above from the Alley behind Shaw’s Tavern.
Update
MPD tells me that an adult Latino male was struck by a car and dragged. The body was found in an alley at 1800 6th St, NW. The victim has not been identified yet. This is being investigated by MPD’s major crash unit.

These flu shot signs are starting to pop up all over the city at CVS, Rite Aid, Safeway and pretty much everywhere that has a pharmacy so I’m just curious – how many people are going to get a flu shot and for those that get one will you use your doctor or just go to a pharmacy?

MPDC Police Chief Cathy Lanier reminds you, "If you smell something, say something!"
Seriously. I'd never heard of this place and a quick yelp search with key terms found it.

The first rule of Rosa's is you do not talk about Rosa's.
