Yesterday I noticed that Aroma Cafe had closed at 1320 U St, NW. They had originally opened as Aroma Bakery and Market back in August 2009.

Will anyone miss their sandwiches?

On Thursday, February 23, at approximately 10 am, the District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will temporarily power down the traffic control signals located at Logan Circle in Northwest Washington. The signals will be turned off for several hours to allow technicians to upgrade the traffic control signalization system.

Logan Circle is located at the intersection of 13th Street, P Street, Rhode Island Avenue and Vermont Avenue, NW.

Traffic control officers will be onsite to direct traffic through this area. Motorists, bicyclists and pedestrians approaching and traveling through the circle are urged to use caution. Travelers may also want to consider alternate routes to avoid delays.

Bloo Moo Frozen Yogurt is coming to the former Marvelous Market space at 4530 Wisconsin Ave. NW. Huge space for Frozen Yogurt but I guess they do offer lots of flavors. Looks like this is their first location.

For the second time this week, power has inexplicably gone out in Ledroit Park, affecting my home and nearly 400 other Pepco customers. The first time this happened, it was already about 10pm and the power was restored sometime during the night. Today, the power went out this morning around 7:30am, and they are currently predicting that it won’t be restored until 8:00pm tonight (although every time I check, it gets later).

There is no explanation whatsoever on the Pepco website for this outage. I was wondering if any of my fellow residents know what could be causing these outages, so I know where to direct my anger at having to take an ice cold shower this morning while 8 months pregnant, because I really needed to be more uncomfortable than I already am.

I was also wondering whether I am still paying for electricity even though I have none? I have read elsewhere about people paying for power during blackouts.

This one from Capitol Hill looks seamless. My untrained eye kept looking at the side to see if the bricks changed at all but I couldn’t notice any difference. What do you think – pop up or original?
