Back in the day the owners of the old Maggie Moos at 1301 U Street, NW asked PoPville readers to name the new spot. You guys came up with U Scream Ice Cream and it always makes me smile when I walk past that sign.
Now, I’m happy to report that they will soon be offering crepes.
And thanks to a reader for sending in the above photo.
Ed. Note: Ever since I saw the Larry David Sandwich episode on Curb Your Enthusiasm it has been a dream of mine to have a PoP sandwich. I can’t believe it but that dream has come true. I can now die happy.
Obviously the important thing here is that now we will soon be able to get crepes on U Street. And stay tuned for Point Chaud to open at 14th just south of S Street, NW. (Remember the other crepe place that was supposed to come to 14th and S is now becoming a burger spot.)

Crepes are coming to 14th st just north of K — I saw the coming soon sign when I was on the bus the other day. Crepes everywhere!
Haha, congrats PoP.
Crepes?! Best news I’ve heard all week
Congrats PoP!
All these crepe places are better than another cupcake or frozen yogurt place, though I wish we had some more falafel joints int he vein of Amsterdam falafel on 18th st.
Maoz on M Street at 19th just opened! not as good as amsterdam falafel, but nearer to my office.
It’s a good thing PoP isn’t a vegan…
Acording to the sign they’ll soon be selling “creps.”
Awesome! I don’t think you can expect anything greater in life than to have a crepe named after you. Yessiree Sir have reached the top.
And, to be memorialized alongside Duke Ellington… a toast to you!
PoP sandwich! Bacon and ham????
Doesn’t sound too kosher to me.
Is that the best they can do for a Jewish boy?

I’m impressed you have a crepe named after you!
they should have an “oops, i crepe’d my pants” crepe.
Congratulations, PoP!! You’d better get out and eat a lot of your namesakes…
I like the correct usage of the word savory, meaning the opposite of sweet. The British are big on this word, btw.
I think my friend took that pic!
